Deleting your Sunbreak account

Sunbreak for Android

Most people never make an account at all — Sunbreak works fully offline without one. If you did make one, here is how to remove it and everything the server holds.

From inside the app

This is the fastest route and it takes effect immediately.

  1. Open Sunbreak.
  2. Go to Settings → Sync & sharing.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm.

If you no longer have the app

Write to hello@sunbreakapp.com from the email address you signed in with, asking for your account to be deleted. Sending it from that address is what lets us match the request to the account — we hold no other identifying information, so a request from a different address cannot be verified and will not be actioned.

Requests are handled within 30 days and normally much sooner. You will get a reply confirming it is done.

What deletion removes

Everything held on the server, permanently and without a recovery window:

Anyone you were sharing with loses access at the moment the account goes. Anyone who was sharing with you disappears from your side too.

What deletion does not touch: the copy on your own phone.

Your check-ins, notes, safety plan and settings stay in the app on the device, exactly as they were. Deleting the account removes the server's copy, not yours.

If this is your only device, that is the copy you have left. Take a backup from Settings → Export before you delete anything, and keep it somewhere you will still have it if the phone does not survive.

Just want to stop syncing?

You do not have to delete the account for that. Settings → Sync & sharing → Sign out stops this device sending and receiving, and leaves every entry on the phone. The account and its data stay as they are until you decide otherwise.
